Frequently Asked Questions

Fitment, shipping, returns and warranty questions about OEM electrical and lighting parts for GM, Ford and Mopar vehicles at AutoElectricalParts.

Identifying the correct part

Where do I find the part number for an electrical component?

The number is moulded or printed on the connector body, the relay case, the lamp housing or the module label rather than stamped into metal. Wire harnesses usually carry a paper or foil tag a few inches back from the main connector. Photograph that label plus the vehicle VIN plate and you have everything needed to identify the item.

Are these GM, Ford and Mopar parts genuine or aftermarket?

Each listing names the manufacturer in the title. GM Genuine Parts, Motorcraft and Mopar are the factory lines; ACDelco and BPROAUTO are the service and aftermarket tiers respectively. The brand field on the product page is authoritative, so compare it against what came off the vehicle before ordering.

How do I know a connector or module will fit my vehicle?

Match three things: the OEM number the dealer or service manual quotes, the connector pin count and keyway shape, and the mounting footprint in the photos. Two connectors can look identical and still differ in pin count or latch orientation, so count the cavities on your old part before ordering.

Can you supply a part that is not listed in the catalog?

Often yes. The catalog is a subset of what the supplier network stocks, so an absent listing does not mean the part is discontinued. Send the OEM number, the model year and a photo of the original component and we will check availability and price.

Shipping and delivery

What is the delivery window once an order ships?

In-stock lines are picked and handed to the carrier within 1–2 business days. Ground transit is normally 3-7 business days to the contiguous states, and a tracking number is emailed the moment the parcel is scanned.

What order value qualifies for free ground shipping?

Ground shipping is free once the cart subtotal reaches $58. Below that amount the live carrier rate applies and is displayed on the cart page before payment, so there is no surprise at checkout.

Do you deliver to Alaska, Hawaii or Canada?

Checkout is configured for the contiguous United States. For Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada or overseas destinations, contact us before paying and we will quote the surcharge and confirm carrier coverage for your address.

Orders, returns and warranty

Can an order be amended or cancelled after submission?

Reach out immediately and we will amend the address or cancel while the order is still in the picking queue. Once the carrier has the parcel it cannot be recalled, and the standard return process applies from that point.

What happens if a module arrives damaged in transit?

Report it within 48 hours with the order number plus photos of the component and the outer carton. Transit damage and mis-shipments are corrected at our expense including return freight. If the part simply does not fit, send the VIN and we will verify the correct number before a return is raised.

Are electrical parts returnable once they have been plugged in?

Alternators, starters, modules, relays and sensors are only accepted back if they are unused and still in unopened factory packaging, because a bench-tested unit cannot be resold as new. That restriction is printed on the affected product pages. Eligible items follow the standard 30-day window from delivery.

Do you quote for shops ordering in quantity?

Yes. Repair shops, fleets and resellers buying multiple units of the same number can request a bulk quote by emailing the part numbers and quantities. Pricing tiers vary by line and by order size, and we will confirm current stock before quoting.

How do I obtain a copy of my invoice?

A confirmation email is generated at checkout and the invoice is attached to the shipment notification. If you need a duplicate, or need it reissued to a business name and tax identifier, send us the order number and we will resend it.

Who honours the warranty on these components?

Coverage comes from the manufacturer that built the part, and we assist with filing the claim rather than adding a store warranty of our own. Wear items and parts damaged by a separate electrical fault, reverse polarity or incorrect installation fall outside manufacturer coverage.

Why do two listings show the same fitment at different prices?

Factory lines and aftermarket lines are always separate listings and never share a price. Where two entries look otherwise identical, the difference is the brand tier or the quantity in the pack, so read the title and the manufacturer line before comparing cost.

Full delivery and return conditions are on our Returns & Shipping page.

Still need help?

If the answer is not here, send the OEM number or the VIN and a photo of the connector or module and we will trace it for you.
